Pelvic floor therapy that treats you, not just your symptoms,
Getting Started
Your pelvic floor is a hammock of muscles, ligaments, and connective tissues at the base of your pelvis. It supports your organs, controls your bladder and bowels, plays a starring role in intimacy, and works with your core every time you move. When those muscles are too tight, too weak, or not firing appropriately, life gets uncomfortable in ways most women are too embarrassed to bring up.
Bring it up here. I’ve heard it all, and I’ve lived a good bit of it myself!
What an evaluation looks like: We sit down and talk about your history, your symptoms, and your goals. Then I perform a thorough whole-body assessment where I check for restrictions or instabilities that may be present including an external and internal exam of the pelvic floor muscles (I will give a thorough explanation at what’s to come during the exam and will only proceed with your consent). If appropriate, manual intervention and corrective exercise will start that same day. If collaboration with another provider is warranted, I will happily suggest preferred providers to contact. You will leave your first visit with answers, a plan, and usually a few things to start working on from day one.
